This is a beautiful house with a unique interior design as well

The half-century anniversary of the house of the future Futuro emphasizes its uniqueness. This utopian plastic house was conceived by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen (1933–2013) and became a symbol of the space age in the late 1960s.

This innovative object was first presented on television in March 1968. By October of the same year, the third Futuro was created for the Finnfocus Export Fair in London. Since then, dozens of prototypes have been distributed to various museums and exhibition centers.

In honor of Futuro’s anniversary in 2018, a whole series of exhibitions and projects are being held in its homeland. One of them, called “Futuromania: Designing Future Life,” showcases the utopian concepts of designers and urbanists since the 1950s.

“In 2018, its appearance is still enchanting, and the optimistic ideas of modernism are also inspiring,” Margarita Morozova, who visited the anniversary exhibition, shares her impressions. “At first glance, of course, it resembles a flying saucer.

But the author of the project, Matti Suuronen, conceived Futuro primarily as a small warm house for winter sports that could be easily installed on any terrain. The essence of Futuro, in essence, lies in “The fact is that this is a house that can be quickly assembled and disassembled. Prefabrication. Such a house could be assembled in just a few days with the participation of a couple of men: 16 plastic panels and 16 windows.”
